£123 Million Jackpot On Offer In Friday’s EuroMillions

One of the biggest jackpots in EuroMillions history will be up for grabs this week, after a Superdraw and one further draw went by without a jackpot winner. A huge £123 million is on offer to anyone who can match all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars on Friday.

No Superdraw Winners

The special prize has come about after no one managed to hit all the numbers in the Superdraw that took place on Friday 1st February. That jackpot was worth €120 million (roughly £105 million), and after it was not won it rolled over to €130 million (£112 million) for the subsequent Tuesday draw. After that draw went by without a winner, the jackpot increased to its current total.

It’s not uncommon for Superdraw jackpots to roll over, and in previous cases it has continued on to hit its jackpot cap of €190 million. At its currently total of £123 million, it would be the third-biggest lottery prize ever won in the UK; the biggest sterling jackpot belongs to Colin and Chris Weir, who won £161 million in 2011.

If this current jackpot does roll over to €190 million, we might see history in the making, as at current exchange rates that would be worth £166 million, which would make it the biggest jackpot ever won in the UK, surpassing the prize won by the Weirs.

Will Lucky Year Continue?

The last 12 months have been good for EuroMillions players in the UK. First of all, there was the £121 million won by an anonymous ticket holder on 24th April, the third-biggest win in UK lottery history. More recently, a builder from Boston was the sole winner of a £76 million jackpot after leaving his winning ticket unchecked in his work van for six weeks.

Finally, Frances and Patrick Connolly started 2019 with a bang as they hit a £114 million jackpot on New Year’s Day. The married couple from Co Armagh in Northern Ireland announced that they would share a portion of the jackpot with around 50 family and friends. Speaking at a press conference hosted by the UK National Lottery, Frances Connolly said, “It's going to be so much fun giving it away. The pleasure for me is going to be seeing people's faces."

EuroMillions players have the chance to leapfrog the Connollys on the National Lottery rich list by taking part in Friday’s draw. Tickets can be bought at any licensed National Lottery retailer or online.
