The numbers drawn on 7th March were 11, 13, 24, 35 and 50, with Lucky Stars 6 and 11. There were more than 2.5 million winning tickets in total, but only one matched the full line. The Belgian winner now has 20 weeks to come forward and claim their jackpot. Even if they decide to stay anonymous, it is customary for the Belgian National Lottery to release some details about big winners and how they plan to spend the money.
It is the 41st jackpot to be won in Belgium since EuroMillions launched in 2004, and comes just three months after a €142 million payout went to a syndicate of 165 players from the village of Olmen.
Belgium’s record win was worth €168 million and came in October 2016. The winner was said to love football, Robert De Niro films and cooking with fish.
More Big Wins To Come
The latest big jackpot was created by a Superdraw last Friday, which pushed the jackpot up to €130 million. Nobody won on the night, but the nine-figure has now been snapped up at the next time of asking.
The jackpot could have potentially kept growing until it reached its cap of €240 million. This has been the game’s limit since a UK ticket holder won €230 million (£195 million) last July.
Another Superdraw is likely to be lined up in the next few months. There are normally four a year, although there needs to be sufficient money in the Reserve Fund first and the participating national lotteries must agree on a date.
Euro-Millions.com will keep you updated with more information when the next Superdraw is announced. In the meantime, the jackpot for the next draw is back at €17 million and you can continue to enjoy draws every Tuesday and Friday evening.
