The first UK win of 2014 came on 14th March when British mechanic Neil Trotter secured the £107 million (€129 million) jackpot prize by matching all seven numbers drawn. Trotter wasted no time in claiming his prize and contacted lottery officials less than 48 hours after the draw took place. Trotter accepted his prize publicly at a press conference held just four days after the draw and claimed his place as the fourth largest UK lottery winner ever and the 745th richest person in the UK.
When the latest UK jackpot winner comes forward they will sit four places behind Trotter as the eighth largest lottery winner in the UK. The fortunate player will also be placed on The Sunday Times Rich List above Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton who has an estimated fortune of £68 million.
Although the jackpot was only won last week, officials are keen to unite the lucky player with their new found fortune. Did you buy a ticket for Friday’s EuroMillions draw? If so, check your tickets immediately as you could be the missing winner.
