EuroMillions Jackpot Hits £90 Million After Another Rollover

The EuroMillions jackpot currently stands at £90 million - one of its biggest totals this year - after Tuesday’s draw went by without a winner. If it is won in the next draw on Friday 21st December, it will be the fifth-biggest jackpot awarded in 2018.

EuroMillions Results Tuesday 18th December

The jackpot was already up to the healthy sum of £83 million for Tuesday’s draw, but no players managed to match all seven numbers to win it. The numbers drawn were 1, 9, 18, 39, 48, and Lucky Stars 5 and 7.

Although there were no jackpot winners, one ticket holder in the UK did manage to match the five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win £203,580. They were one of three winners across all participating countries to win the second-tier prize. More than 450,000 British players won something on the night, including one who matched five numbers without the Lucky Stars to win £28,449.

You can see a complete prize breakdown from Tuesday’s draw on the Results page. If you want to be in with a chance of landing the £90 million prize on offer in Friday’s draw, buy a ticket from any lottery retailer or choose your numbers online.

Raffle Changes Come Into Effect Soon

In November the UK National Lottery announced some significant changes to their most popular games, including changes to the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker raffle. From 15th January 2019, the number of winning raffle codes selected in each draw will reduce from two to one. You will still get a code with every line of EuroMillions numbers you buy, and the prize will still be £1 million if your code matches the winning one.

In exchange for the reduced prizes, Camelot announced that it would be staging more special draws throughout the year. These usually take the form of special Millionaire Maker raffles, in which a large number of prizes are handed out, and they are usually held to celebrate significant events or calendar dates.

The most recent Millionaire Maker event took place on Friday 13th July to tie in with a date usually associated with bad luck, and 13 prizes of £1 million were given away to players in the UK.

A spokesperson from the National Lottery said at the time the changes were announced, “The reason we’re doing this is because sales on EuroMillions – and therefore the amount of money the game raises for Good Causes – are driven by the big, rolling jackpots, as well as special draws in which lots of guaranteed £1 million UK winners are created.

“These special draws build huge levels of player excitement and typically generate over 60% more in sales when compared with an equivalent draw, so are great from a Good Causes perspective.”
