Second Prize Split 11 Ways
Friday’s draw was the 11th in a row without a jackpot winner, but 11 ticket holders across Europe came within one Lucky Star of landing the £98 million (€114 million) top prize. This was the highest number of ‘Match 5 + 1’ winners since 20th September, and each player was awarded £84,897 (€131,335).
There were a total of 2.5 million prizes won altogether, including 719,321 participants from the UK who split more than £3.3 million. One UK player also won £1 million after matching the Millionaire Maker code MLRP72207. Go to the EuroMillions Results page for more draw details, including the value of prizes in each tier.
A Remarkable Year Continues
The jackpot has now exceeded £100 million five times since the start of 2019, making it an incredible year for big winners. It all started when Frances and Patrick Connolly from Northern Ireland won £114 million on 1st January, setting the trend for a remarkable run of success.
A family syndicate from The Naul in County Dublin landed €175 million (£152 million) in February following a Superdraw, instantly taking their place among the ten largest winners in EuroMillions history. The next big jackpot came in June when a UK ticket holder claimed £123 million anonymously following another Superdraw.
A Superdraw was not required to create the extraordinary £170 million (€190 million) jackpot last month, as the top prize grew all the way from its base level of €17 million right up to its jackpot cap. A Must be Won draw then had to be held on 8th October as the jackpot had already been at €190 million for four consecutive draws, and a single player from the UK matched all the numbers to pocket the full amount.
The winner staked a claim for the £170 million jackpot within a couple of days and it was later confirmed that they had decided to remain anonymous, so no more information could be disclosed about their identity or even where the ticket was purchased.
There is still some way to go before the jackpot reaches its cap again, but it is already more than halfway there and excitement will grow with each passing draw until it is won.
