EuroMillions Winners Support Liverpool Baby Hospice

EuroMillions winner Emma Dunkley has spoken about the importance of supporting a children’s hospice in Liverpool after joining other lottery players to help out local families. Dunkley and her husband Karl, who won £6.5 million in November 2009, are donating a large number of toys to Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in West Derby.

The hospice takes care of children under the age of five who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, but relies on support from the community and charity donations. A campaign before Christmas saw lottery winners from the region help to build, paint and furnish a gingerbread playhouse at the hospice, and Emma is full of admiration for the work that is being done.

“Zoe’s Place does such wonderful things and is a vital lifeline for so many families,” Emma said to ITV. “They are totally reliant upon charity donations so it’s incredibly important to support the hospice and bring more smiles to the faces of the young children and their siblings.”

The Dunkleys’ donation is just one example of an act of generosity performed by EuroMillions winners, following on from the likes of Chris and Colin Weir, who have donated heavily to various worthy causes since winning £161.6 million in July 2011. The Belgian player who won €168 million last October also made it clear when he came forward that he wanted to share a good portion of his money with ‘people in need’.

The EuroMillions draw tonight will offer a jackpot of £14 million (€17 million) and afford any big winners the opportunity to help out friends, family and others if they so choose. You can choose your numbers online or by visiting an authorised retailer in any of the participating countries.
