The top prize rolled over for an 11th successive time on Friday night, as nobody managed to match the main numbers of 9, 11, 12, 19 and 30, plus Lucky Stars 4 and 9. There were still an incredible 3.4 million winners in total, including six ticket holders from across the continent who scooped £175,490 (€269,554) in total. Take a look at the EuroMillions Results page for more information and a full prize breakdown.
As attention now turns towards tomorrow night’s game, players will be dreaming of emulating some of the biggest winners in EuroMillions history and thinking about how they might spend such a huge amount of cash. Chris and Colin Weir, who landed £161.6 million back in July 2011, not only bought themselves a mansion, but also invested heavily in Partick Thistle, set up the Weir Charitable Trust to help local community projects and made a series of donations to the Scottish National Party.
Adrian Bayford, winner of a £148.6 million jackpot with wife Gillian in August 2012, has also pursued his passions after opening a shop selling music and film memorabilia. He also helped out the local Cambridge Rock Festival just a couple of months ago after offering to host the event in the grounds of his £6 million estate. Meanwhile, the Belgian player who won €168 million last October - the last time the jackpot was higher - declared that he would use his money to help ‘people in need’.
Participants do not even need to win the jackpot to transform their lives, and this week a couple from Quidhampton in Wiltshire came forward after scooping £1 million in the Millionaire Maker. Nick and Zoe Hoare say it has been ‘crazy, absolutely bonkers’, but they now plan to leave the pub they have run for years and seek future opportunities.
There will be three Millionaire Maker prizes up for grabs on both Tuesday and Friday this week, in addition to a trip to Japan, as part of May’s Mega Week, so it really is a perfect time to try and snap up a big prize.
If you fancy having a go at winning the massive jackpot, you can choose your EuroMillions numbers online or by visiting an authorised retailer in any of the participating countries. Good luck!
