Will the First EuroMillions Jackpot of 2016 Be Won Tonight?

A EuroMillions jackpot of £61 million (€81 million) will be up for grabs in this evening’s draw as players across the continent bid to become the first winners of the top prize this year. The jackpot has not been scooped since Friday 18th December, when a single participant from Spain scooped €83.2 million (£60.6 million), but there is a buzz of excitement from London to Lisbon and from Manchester to Madrid as tickets are snapped up in anticipation of tonight’s big game.

There were 27 draws in 2015 in which the jackpot was given away, and the results left France top of the list of winners by country. There have now been 78 jackpot-winning tickets sold in France since EuroMillions launched, just ahead of Spain on 75 and with Portugal third on 58. The UK comes in fourth with 55 winners, but all nine participating nations have produced at least one top prize winner since joining the game.

There are also plenty of other prizes to play for as well as the jackpot, with 13 winning tiers in total and cash rewards on offer for matching as few as two main numbers. There are always tremendous amounts of cash given away in each draw, and in the most recent game on Tuesday night one player from the UK and one from France each took home £624,487 (€833,543) after matching five main numbers. Visit the EuroMillions Results page to find out more from all the most recent draws.

It may be that you want to consider using a new set of numbers if you are seeking a change in fortune, and the EuroMillions Statistics page has all the information you could need on which numbers are drawn most frequently and which come out the least. The number 24, for example, has not been drawn for 203 days now, so it is statistically the most overdue.

There would be no better time to grab a decent reward than in tonight's draw. Now that a few weeks have passed since Christmas, the motivation to maintain those New Year’s resolutions may be weakening and the weather is turning colder, so a good prize win would lift the spirits enormously and brighten up the rest of the winter, if not the rest of the year or longer. You’ll need to buy a EuroMillions ticket to have a chance, though, and the game can be played online or via any authorised retailer in a participating country. Good luck!
