In addition to the jackpot winner, four EuroMillions players celebrated after matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win €775,956 (around £685,847) each. Seven more players matched the five main numbers only and each collected €125,830 (around £111,281). In total, over 1.85 million prizes were won on Friday 15 May. This was down from 3.35 million prizes the week before, which reflects just how many more tickets than usual were purchased for the previous multi-rollover game.
The jackpot for the next EuroMillions draw on Friday 22 May, 2009 has now been reset. Take a look at our EuroMillions Statistics page and you will see that the most overdue main numbers are 43, 6, 27, 39 and 11, and the most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 7 and 6. Whether any of those numbers will be drawn in the next game remains to be seen, but if they are then it won’t be before time!
Of course, Lucky Dip entries are just as popular as entries based on statistics, and no matter how a player selects their numbers, their chances of winning with a single ticket are exactly the same. This gives every EuroMillions ticket the same odds of winning the jackpot whether you buy a paper ticket or play EuroMillions online.
