What Were The Winning EuroMillions Numbers?
The sole winning jackpot ticket for the draw on Tuesday 8th May matched the main numbers 17, 25, 35, 39 and 44, plus the Lucky Stars 2 and 5. There was over £4 million paid out in prizes between 1,393,834 winners in the nine participating countries. One UK player matched five numbers and 1 Lucky Star to take home over £541,000, but the night belonged to the Austrian jackpot winner from Tyrol who now has up to three years from the date of the draw to contact lottery officials and claim their prize.
Elsewhere, two lucky players from the UK became instant millionaires in the UK Millionaire Raffle, after the winning codes XDCQ90512 and HLFV95896 were drawn. Visit the Results page for a full breakdown of results from the draw, as well as the winning numbers from the additional EuroMillions game held in each country.
Seventh Jackpot Winner of 2018
The top prize winner from Austria has become the game’s seventh jackpot winner of the year, following in the footsteps of April’s anonymous UK recipient of £121 million and the Belgian ticket holder who landed €17 million (£14.8 million) in the same month.
The jackpot was last won in Austria on Tuesday 13th October 2015, when a ticket holder shared a €30.8 million (£23 million) jackpot with a UK player, each of them receiving €14 million (£11.5 million). With 15 jackpot winners since EuroMillions began in 2004, Austria is now only two behind Switzerland (17), and five ahead of Ireland (12) and 13 ahead of Luxembourg (2).
The Austrian region of Tyrol, located in the west of the country, may be known for its historic sites and ski resorts but it has actually enjoyed EuroMillions jackpot success before. A ticket holder from the same area landed €54.3 million (£43.5 million) in August 2014.
Choices The Top Prize Winner Must Now Make
EuroMillions players who land the jackpot always have big decisions to make, even before they’ve made contact with lottery officials to begin the process of claiming their prize. Choosing whether to protect their anonymity or go public with their win is one of their biggest decisions, as explained on our Publicity page.
Whatever decision the winner makes, they will be able to splash out how they please with their new-found wealth. That could be acts of generosity to treat family and friends and those closest to them, investing the winnings in property, or signing the dotted line for private jets and super yachts.

Lower Prize Tiers
Apart from the jackpot, there are 12 other prize tiers in EuroMillions, so you can receive prizes for matching as few as two main numbers, or even one main number and both the Lucky Stars. The lowest prizes aren’t going to set you up financially for life, even if they may allow you to splash out on a couple of nice treats, but as you match more numbers the rewards become increasingly substantial.
The odds of matching all five main numbers and one Lucky Star are 1 in 6,991,908 (approximately 20 times better than the chances of winning the jackpot). The second tier receives 3.95% of the prize fund, so when there is a high level of participation there can be a seven-figure amount on offer.
Special Draws
Each participating country runs a number of associated games. In the UK, everyone who buys a ticket is automatically entered into the Millionaire Maker, where two players win £1 million in every draw. Special draws sometimes take place where even more prizes of £1 million are put up for grabs, such as the one on Friday 13th April when 13 players became millionaires. UK players can also take part in the separate EuroMillions HotPicks game for another chance to win £1 million. The odds of winning the Pick 5 game are 1 in 2,118,760, and one lucky player did just that on Friday 20th April to pocket £1 million.
One French player wins €1 million in every draw as part of My Million, while the Spanish El Millon and Portuguese M1lhão games offer €1 million every Friday night. There are big prizes up for grabs in supplementary games in Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg and Switzerland, and European Millionaire Maker draws are also held from time to time to create multiple guaranteed millionaires across Europe.
