Draw Summary
The arrival of EuroMillions draw number 1,244 on 23rd August brought with it a jackpot that had rolled over nine times to sit at £91 million (€100 million). At the time of the draw, it was the biggest lottery jackpot in the world.
That came about after no one managed to clinch an £83 million (€91.2 million) jackpot in the previous EuroMillions draw on 20th August. Over 22.7 million players took part across Europe, but despite a large number of winners in each country only two players got anywhere close to taking the top prize home. One player in Portugal and one player in Belgium managed to match all five main numbers and one Lucky Star, each laying claim to €494,469.
The 20th August draw also saw guaranteed prizes won across Europe in the usual supplementary draws and raffles; one winning code worth £1 million was drawn in the UK Millionaire Maker raffle, while other winners were made in the Irish Raffle, France’s My Million and Spain’s El Millón.
