United Kingdom

It’s easy to pick up prizes in the UK, whether you’ve played online or in-store. If you’re cashing in a winning ticket at a retailer, you’ll hear a distinctive sound when it gets scanned and you’ll be able to collect most prizes right there in the store. Likewise, the majority of prizes won online will be paid straight into your National Lottery account. See below to find out how to claim a EuroMillions prize in the UK.

• Up to and including £500: Prizes will be paid directly into your National Lottery account shortly after the draw and the winnings can either be transferred into your bank account or used to fund future ticket purchases.
• Over £500 up to £30,000: You will need to confirm during the claim period (180 days from the date of the draw) that the prize should be transferred into your bank account via the debit card registered to your online account.
• Over £30,000 up to £50,000: These prizes can be claimed by calling the National Lottery Customer Care Team on 0333 234 44 33 to arrange payment of your winnings. Please have your ticket or play number and account details to hand.
• Over £50,000: You will need to contact the National Lottery Customer Care Team on 0333 234 44 33 to claim your prize. A National Lottery representative will arrange for you to receive your prize in person at an agreed location such as your home or a Regional Lottery Centre.

If you played via Direct Debit prize wins up to and including £50,000 can be transferred into your bank account via a transfer or paid via cheque.

• Up to £100: Prizes can be claimed from any official lottery retailer.
• Over £100 up to £500: Can be claimed from any authorised retailer provided that they have sufficient funds available and that your ticket has not yet been validated. If your ticket has already been validated then you must return to the retailer who originally validated your ticket or claim your prize at a National Lottery affiliated Post Office.
• Over £500 up to £50,000: Can be claimed by sending your winning ticket and completed claim form (for prizes over £500 only) by post* to: The National Lottery, Accounts Dept, PO BOX 28, Watford, WD18 9TT. Claim forms are available from some retailers or by contacting the National Lottery on 0333 234 50 50. Alternatively, submit an online claim form and National Lottery operator Allwyn will pay out the prize directly.
• Over £50,000: You must first contact the National Lottery and arrange for your prize to be awarded at an agreed location such as your home or Regional Lottery Centre. You will be required to provide proof of identity and complete a claim form in order to receive your prize.

Austria

If you win a prize of up to €1,000 in Austria, it will be paid into your online account or you will be able to collect it from an authorised retailer. Below you can find all the information about what you need to do to obtain larger winnings in Austria.

• Prizes up to €1,000: Prizes are paid directly into your online account.
• Prizes over €1,000: Larger prizes are paid into your bank account after a four-week period.

• Prizes up to €1,000: Prizes can be claimed from any official lottery retailer.
• Prizes between €1,000 and €80,000: Can be claimed by taking your winning ticket to official prize offices located across Austria.
• Prizes over €80,000: Larger prizes can be claimed by calling the customer service line of the Austrian Lottery on 0810/100 200 100. You’ll then need to collect the prize in person from the Austria National Lottery headquarters, located at 1038 Vienna, Rennweg 44.

Belgium

If you’re an online winner in Belgium, prizes below €25,000 will be paid into your lottery account or bank account for you to withdraw. If you’ve played in-store, you’ll need to have your identity card and account number with you. Find out more below:

• Prizes up to €500: Small prizes are added to your lottery account, although they are paid directly to your bank account instead if they would take the lottery account balance over €500.
• Prizes between €500 and €25,000: Prizes are paid directly into your bank account.
• Prizes over €25,000: Prizes must be collected from National Lottery headquarters in Brussels.

• Prizes up to €2,000: Prizes of up to €250 can be claimed from any official lottery retailer. Winnings from €250 to €2,000 can be paid out in cash or by bank transfer. If you want a cash payout and the retailer does not have the required funds on the premises, you will need to return at a later date.
• Prizes between €2,000 and €100,000: These prizes can be paid by lottery shops that are authorised payment centres. Alternatively, you can make an appointment to go to the lottery headquarters in Brussels.
• Prizes over €100,000: You must make an appointment to meet a representative at lottery headquarters in Brussels. The number to call is 02 238 45 54 or 0494 10 99 67.

France

The way in which you receive your money depends on the amount you won and whether the entry was purchased online or in-store. Learn how to collect EuroMillions winnings in France by viewing the information below.

• Prizes up to €2,000: Prizes are paid directly into your online account.
• Prizes over €2,000: You will be notified via email if you have won a prize of more than €2,000 and you will be provided with instructions to claim your money.

• Prizes up to €300: Prizes can be claimed from any official lottery retailer.
• Prizes between €301 and €30,000: For prizes of this value, you can visit a point of sale to request a bank transfer. Alternatively, go to any of the payment centres located across France.
• Prizes between €30,000 and €499,999: You will need to make an appointment to go to a payment centre so that you can claim your prize in person.
• Prizes of €500,000 or more: You must claim prizes over €500,000 in person, so you need to contact the French National Lottery - La Francaise des Jeux (FDJ) - on 09 69 36 60 60 to start the claims process.

Ireland

Whether you’ve won the EuroMillions jackpot or just matched a couple of numbers, collecting prizes in Ireland is a straightforward process. The following information shows how to claim a EuroMillions prize in Ireland, depending on the value of your win.

• Prizes up to €99: Prizes are paid directly into your online account.
• Prizes between €100 and €500: Prizes are sent by cheque to your registered home address.
• Prizes between €501 and €9,999: Prizes are paid by cheque once a claim form has been completed.
• Prizes over €10,000: Prizes must be collected in person from National Lottery headquarters in Dublin. A cheque will be presented once the win has been validated.

• Prizes up to €100: Smaller prizes can be claimed from any authorised lottery retailer.
• Prizes up to €2,500: You can go to any An Post Office to get awards of up to €2,500.
• Prizes between €1,000 and €15,000: Visit any lottery claim centre around the country to pick up your prize. Alternatively, you can send winning tickets by post to The National Lottery, Abbey Street Lower, Dublin, DO1 Y1X2.
• Prizes over €15,000: You must visit the lottery headquarters in Dublin to claim your prize. You should ring the lottery straight away on 1800 666 222 for assistance.

Luxembourg

• Prizes up to €750: Prizes are paid directly into your online account.
• Prizes over €750: Prizes are paid directly into your bank account.

• Prizes between €750 and €999.99: You must visit the Luxembourg National Lottery. Any winnings will be paid in cash or by bank transfer.
• Prizes over €1,000: Prizes can be claimed from the Luxembourg National Lottery and are paid by bank transfer.

Portugal

The information below shows the method you must follow to receive prizes in Portugal. If you win more than €5,000, you will be taxed at the statutory rate of 20%.

• Prizes up to €150: Prizes are paid directly into your online account.
• Prizes between €150 and €5,000: Prizes are paid directly into your bank account.
• Prizes over €5,000: Prizes are paid into your bank account after a 12-day period in which the award can be challenged.

• Prizes up to €150: Prizes can be claimed from any official lottery retailer.
• Prizes between €150 and €5,000: Prizes can be claimed from any official lottery retailer or lottery headquarters. Winnings will be paid by bank transfer.
• Prizes over €5,000: Paid by bank transfer from lottery headquarters following a 12-day period in which the award can be challenged.

Spain

If you play EuroMillions in Spain, the prize payouts are the responsibility of lottery operator Loterías y Apuestas del Estado. You’ll be notified automatically if you win a prize online, but if you buy a ticket in-store it is your responsibility to check the results. • Prizes up to €2,000: Prizes of up to €600 are paid directly into your online account. Larger prizes are paid directly into your bank account.
• Prizes over €2,000: You must visit your lottery account and request the transfer of your prize into your bank account. Prizes over €40,000 are taxed at a rate of 20%.

• Prizes up to €2,000: Prizes can be claimed from any Loterias y Apuestas sales outlet.
• Prizes over €2,000: Prizes can be claimed from any Loterias y Apuestas sales outlet. Winnings will be paid via bank transfer. Prizes over €40,000 are taxed at a rate of 20%.

Switzerland

There are two different lottery operators in Switzerland, but the process for claiming prizes, and how long you have to claim, is the same throughout the country. There is a tax of 35 percent on any winnings over CHF1 million.

• Prizes up to CHF1,000: Prizes are paid directly into your online account.
• Prizes over CHF1,000: Prizes are paid directly into your bank account.

• Prizes up to CHF250: Prizes can be claimed from any official lottery retailer.
• Prizes between CHF200 and CHF1,000: You must complete and submit a prize claim form. Once complete, you can collect your winnings from any official lottery retailer.
