€67 Million EuroMillions Jackpot Won in Portugal

The winning numbers for the 17th October 2023 draw were 10, 17, 20, 35, 40, with the Lucky Stars 3 and 4. The Millionaire Maker code was  VWTT 49893. There were over 1.5 million winners across all participating countries, so if you entered last night’s draw make sure you check the prize breakdown and see if you’ve won a prize. 

The winning ticket was sold in the Porto district, according to the Jogos Santa Casa lottery officials. The location of where the ticket was sold might remain the only detail that we’ll know about the winner as all nine EuroMillions participating nations allow their winners to remain anonymous, should they choose to do so. The Portuguese player will now have 90 days from the draw date to claim their prize.

Portugal and EuroMillions

This is Portugal’s first jackpot win of the year, and the 82nd overall since EuroMillions’ launch in the country in 2004. Portugal’s previous win happened almost a year ago, just two days after Christmas, when a single winner matched all seven winning numbers and took home almost €27 million.

Portugal’s largest jackpot is also in the top ten biggest wins in the history of the game and was worth €190 Million. The jackpot was won on Friday, 24th October 2014 after five consecutive draws without a winner. The participant bought the winning ticket from Sobedis Tabacaria, a shop within the Alegro Shopping Centre. The lucky winner claimed their prize a week after the draw date and decided to keep their anonymity. 

Now that it’s been won, the jackpot now returns to its base amount of €17 million. With draws happening twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday evenings, you have two chances to become the next jackpot winner. You can choose to enter EuroMillions by playing online or by visiting an authorised retailer in any of the nine participating countries.
