€88.5 Million EuroMillions Jackpot won in Ireland

A EuroMillions player from Ireland has become the first jackpot winner of 2017 after landing a prize worth €88.5 million in Tuesday night’s draw. The lucky ticket holder successfully matched the numbers 1, 5, 7, 17, 23 and Lucky Stars 3 and 8 to scoop the eight-figure prize.

Claim Made on EuroMillions Prize

Update: A player has made a claim on the EuroMillions prize, according to the Irish National Lottery. A press release issued on Wednesday afternoon confirmed "The ticket holders have been in touch to make arrangements to collect their prize money."

This win is the tenth jackpot claimed by an Irish player since EuroMillions sales first began in the country in October 2004. The latest winner joins the likes of €115 million winner Dolores McNamara in claiming a huge lottery prize from the Emerald Isle, and proved that the luck of the Irish is still very much alive when it comes to taking part in EuroMillions.

As well as being the first jackpot win of the new year, this is also the highest prize amount won since a father-of-four from Belgium scooped €168 million on Tuesday 11th October 2016. The latest victor must now claim their prize within 90 days of the draw date.
