Belgium emerged as the country with the most to celebrate. As well as the jackpot winner, two of the four players who matched five main numbers plus one Lucky Star - pocketing €257,427 (£183,257) each - came from Belgium. The others were from the UK and France.
It is the third-largest jackpot to have ever been won in Belgium, following a €168 million success in October 2016 and a €153 million payout in June 2017. Both those winners stayed anonymous, although some details were revealed about their stories, and the latest lucky ticket holder now has 20 weeks to come forward and claim their prize.
Belgium has now had 44 jackpot winners since EuroMillions began in 2004, placing it in fifth place out of nine in terms of the most successful countries.
Superdraw Soon
The jackpot could have kept growing until it reached its maximum of €250 million, but it will now reset to its base amount of €17 million.
It won’t be long before it is bumped back up, though, with a €130 million Superdraw scheduled for Friday 27th September.
