Enfield Welder Seals Big EuroMillions Win

A welder from Enfield has said the ‘sparks were flying’ after he found out he had won a life-changing sum of money on EuroMillions. Valentin Zafirov chose his numbers online and grabbed an impressive €248,000 (£210,000), setting him and his family up for a bright future.

The lucky Londoner placed a bet on the EuroMillions draw on 21st March at Jackpot.com and matched all five main numbers and one Lucky Star to land the huge prize. He is now looking forward to being financially secure for life, although he has no intention of changing his job and says he did even feel a tinge of regret that he had come so close to winning the jackpot itself.

Valentin, a 40-year-old father of one, explained: “When I saw the results, I was so happy but I have to admit all I could think was – ‘I was one number away from winning £21 million!’. I am a welder by trade and trust me, sparks were flying when I found out!”

As Valentin starts to enjoy life with his new-found wealth, EuroMillions fans everywhere will be eagerly anticipating tonight’s draw and the opportunity to try and win the top prize of £62 million (€73 million). The jackpot has been rolling over since a family from Dijon in France won €83.3 million (£70.8 million) on Tuesday 11th April. A special Ireland Only Raffle draw will also take place tonight, with one Irish ticket holder guaranteed to win €1 million.

If you fancy winning one of this evening’s spectacular prizes, you can visit an authorised retailer in any of the participating EuroMillions countries or choose your numbers online, just like Valentin. It could just be that you keep the hot streak going. Good luck!
