EuroMillions Jackpot of €49 Million Goes To Ireland

Irish EuroMillions players have been urged to check their tickets after someone from the country matched all the numbers in the latest draw to land a jackpot of €49 million.

Going into the draw on Tuesday 21st July, the top prize had rolled over three times in a row. More than 18 million entries were submitted by expectant players, and the winning numbers were revealed to be 14, 15, 24, 29 and 42, plus Lucky Stars 2 and 4.

It was later announced that the only winning ticket came from Ireland, although the precise location has not yet been disclosed. Further information, such as whether the ticket belonged to an individual or a syndicate, will not be known until the prize has been claimed.

A spokesperson for the Irish National Lottery said: “This is amazing news for one of our lucky players, €49.5 million is truly a life-changing prize and we are delighted to confirm that this lucky ticket was sold in Ireland.

“This is Ireland's 16th EuroMillions jackpot winner and we are now asking all our players to check their tickets very carefully to see if they are the lucky winner or winners.”

You can find out more details about Tuesday’s draw, including the number of prizes paid out in each country and the results of associated games such as Millionaire Maker, by going to the EuroMillions Results page.

Winning Run Continues in Ireland

The latest win was the 495th in total since EuroMillions was launched in 2004. With 15 jackpots given away already this year, the same number as the whole of last year, it is shaping up to be a very productive year for creating lots of winners.

Ireland can lay claim to having two jackpot wins in 2020, following a €17 million payday for a player from Connacht in February. There have also been four jackpot winners from the UK this year, three from France and Spain, two from Portugal and one from Luxembourg. Take a look at the Winner Statistics page for more information.

The largest win in EuroMillions history came towards the end of last year, when a UK player banked a jackpot worth £170 million (€190 million) after the top prize reached its maximum amount. The cap has since been increased to €200 million.

For the next draw, a jackpot of €17 million (£15 million) will be on offer. Take part now for your chance to become the next big winner.
