EuroMillions Superdraw to Offer a Jackpot Worth €130 Million on 25th September

The next big event in the EuroMillions calendar is set to take place on Friday 25th September, as a Superdraw will put a jackpot worth €130 million (approximately £115 million) up for grabs. It will be the third Superdraw to take place this year and the second in the space of three months.

€130 Million Jackpot Guaranteed

The jackpot for the 25th September Superdraw has been set at a guaranteed €130 million, which will work out at approximately £115 million for UK players and CHF140 million to those in Switzerland. That’s a guaranteed minimum, so if the jackpot is won in the draw before and resets to its starting value of €17 million in time for the Superdraw, a further €113 million will be added to the total to take it to its guaranteed amount.

If, however, the jackpot rolls over to be worth more than €130 million by the time the Superdraw comes around, the funds that were reserved for the special event will be retained and another event will be scheduled for sometime in the future. That’s only ever happened twice, most recently in October 2019 when a UK ticket holder won a €190 million (£170 million) jackpot after a record number of rollovers.

The jackpot for the next draw on Tuesday 25th August is €122 million (£109 million), so there is the chance that it will roll over to supersede the €130 million Superdraw jackpot. There are, however, nine draws before 25th September, so there are plenty of opportunities for the jackpot to be hit before then.

Superdraws Taking Place More Frequently

EuroMillions underwent some big changes in February 2020, and as part of those changes the UK National Lottery told its players that it expected the number of Superdraws that take place each year to increase. Over the course of EuroMillions history there have been two Superdaws a year on average, but after February’s changes that was expected to increase to three per year.

With the confirmation of September’s Superdraw, the nine EuroMillions partners are following through on this commitment, as it will be the third Superdraw to take place in 2020.

The first of the year was held to mark those changes in February. It was held on Friday 7th February and also offered a guaranteed jackpot worth €130 million. One ticket holder from Spain won the entire amount on the night. It was the first Superdraw jackpot in three years not to roll over to the following draw.

Then on 3rd July the second Superdraw of the year was held, once again for a jackpot of €130 million. That jackpot did roll over and in the following draw a ticket holder from Valladolid in Spain took home a prize worth €144 million.

Gaining entry to the next Superdraw is simple - just buy a EuroMillions ticket for the draw on 25th September. You’ll then be in with a chance of winning a huge nine-figure jackpot, as well as the prizes on offer in EuroMillions’ supplementary draws and raffles, such as the UK Millionaire Maker. Check your tickets after the draw to find out if you’ve won a prize in the main draw or the raffle and visit the EuroMillions Results page to find out if anyone won the Superdraw jackpot.
