Fresh Start for EuroMillions

Last week’s jackpot-winning ticket may have been purchased by a single player or by a group of players, so if any light falls on that matter we will of course let you know without delay. In the meantime, let’s return to our usual analysis of the secondary prizes that were won by those who didn’t match all seven EuroMillions numbers.

Seven players weren’t quite lucky enough to land the biggest prize of all, but they only fell one Lucky Star short, and as a consolation they each won a second-tier prize of €506,710 (around £362,016). 12 players matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win €83,881 (around £59,928) each, and another 89 players matched the five main numbers without any Lucky Stars to win €8,078 (around £5,772) each. In total, more than 1.73 million EuroMillions prizes were won, and in the UK one player became £1,000,000 richer by matching the Millionaire Raffle number FHR821795.

As we said earlier, the fact that last week’s jackpot was won means that the EuroMillions game starts afresh for 2011, and the jackpot this Friday 7 January will be worth €15 million. For those who want to consider including one or more of them, the most overdue main numbers right now are 14, 44, 18, 37 and 25, and the most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 06 and 09.
