How To Win The £133 Million EuroMillions Jackpot

The EuroMillions jackpot has been climbing rapidly since the start of the year and will stand at an estimated £133 million (€151 million) on Friday night. As millions of players across Europe go in search of the nine-figure prize, what are the best ways to go about trying to win?

EuroMillions Results

Four players - one each from Belgium, France, Ireland and Spain - came close to landing the jackpot in the latest draw. They each matched five main numbers plus one Lucky Star to win €333,912. Another nine players matched five main numbers to pocket €34,565, while the other prizes ranged from £2.10 (€3.60) for matching two main numbers to £2,107 (€3,622) for matching four main numbers plus two Lucky Stars.

Go to the EuroMillions Results page to see a full breakdown of prizes from the draw on Tuesday 13th February, along with details of all the supplementary games played in the nine participating countries.

Winning Strategies

To win the jackpot, you must must match all five main numbers plus both Lucky Stars, which has not happened since a family syndicate from Dublin bagged €38.9 million (£34.5 million) on Friday 29th December.

Playing as part of a group can be a very effective strategy, as it allows you to own a share of more tickets and therefore increases your odds. The only way to boost your chances of winning is to enter more lines, and in a syndicate you can achieve this without having to worry about the cost of buying multiple tickets.

Syndicate winnings have to be split between everyone in the group, but this also creates a shared feeling of celebration. A group of 12 work colleagues from Slough in the UK won £158,759 in last Tuesday’s draw, and syndicate leader Pauline Rodgers said: “I saw there was a message from Camelot with news about our ticket and to be honest thought it was going to be another £2.70 and another round of friendly ribbing. When I logged into the account and saw it was £158,759.50, I knew there’d be more than friendly ribbing in the office that day.”

Check out the page on Systems & Strategies for more ways to increase your chances of winning the next big jackpot, including systematic entries and more personal strategies such as the ‘dream scheme’ and the ‘pyramid plan’.

Statistics

Another method might be to explore the EuroMillions Statistics, which show details of all the numbers drawn since the game was launched in February 2004. You can consider the most frequently drawn numbers, the most overdue numbers and much more. The numbers drawn most often have been 50, 44, 23, 19 and 4, with Lucky Stars 8 and 3.

If you have some exciting ideas for how you could spend £133 million (€158 million), you can take part in the next draw by choosing numbers online or visiting an authorised retailer in one of the participating countries. Good luck!
