Portuguese Player Wins €17 Million EuroMillions Jackpot

The numbers drawn on Tuesday were 14, 22, 26, 42 and 50 with Lucky Stars 8 and 10, and more than 1.2 million prizes were given away across Europe. As well as the jackpot winner, Portugal also sold one of the two tickets which matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star, netting the lucky owner €369,210. The other winner in the second tier came from Ireland, adding to a great few days for EuroMillions players from the Emerald Isle.

The other prizes won last night spanned between £2.60 (€4.40) for matching two main numbers and £20,376 (€34,397) for matching five main numbers. Portugal has been the fourth most successful EuroMillions nation since the game began in 2004, having now created 65 jackpot winners. The UK is just one ahead of Portugal on 66, but both countries still trail a long way behind leaders France (85) and second-placed Spain (82).

The EuroMillions jackpot has now been won in three of the last four draws, after a UK player claimed the £87.5 million (€100 million) top prize in the Superdraw on Friday 30th June.
