One week on from the record-breaking €250 million draw on 28th March, a total of 23 million entries were submitted for Friday’s draw and the opportunity to become Europe’s latest multimillionaire.
The winning line was 27, 39, 41, 45 and 50, with Lucky Stars 5 and 7 - a high set of numbers and not very appealing for those players who like to use key dates for their selections. However, one French participant defied odds of 139,838,160 to 1 to match all the numbers.
There was only one winner in the second prize tier too - again, they came from France - and matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star rewarded them with €684,735. Go to the EuroMillions Results page to see all the draw details for 4th April.
No more information was released about the jackpot winner immediately after the draw. They have 60 days to come forward - the joint-shortest claim period in Europe - so the lucky player cannot afford to wait too long before making contact with French national lottery operator La Française des Jeux (FDJ).
France has now had 131 jackpot winners since EuroMillions started in 2004, although this is the first time since last December that someone from the country has landed the top prize.
Big Jackpots in 2025
The year started with back-to-back successes for the UK - first an £83 million win on 24th January and then a £65 million payout on Valentine’s Day. A Belgian ticket holder pocketed €52 million on 28th February, before history was made in the month of March.
A Superdraw on 7th March bumped the jackpot up to €130 million, and it continued to accelerate as it climbed higher before eventually the game’s limit of €250 million was hit and the stage was set for the biggest draw ever on 28th March.
An Austrian snapped up the record jackpot, continuing the country’s proud tradition of making big winners (an online player had held the previous record of €240 million).
You can see a range of winner statistics on our dedicated page, as the jackpot now resets to €17 million (£14 million). Draws continue every Tuesday and Friday night.
