A £40.5 million (€44.1 million) jackpot had been scooped by a French player in the previous draw on Tuesday 22nd August, and fans from all nine participating countries were again keen to take part ahead of the weekend.
The numbers drawn were 1, 5, 7, 15 and 47, with Lucky Stars 9 and 12. As well as the jackpot, over 1.9 million prizes were given away, ranging from £2.20 (€3) for matching two main numbers to £304,858 (€495,917) for the two participants (one each from the UK and Spain) who matched five main numbers plus one Lucky Star. Visit the EuroMillions Results page for a full prize breakdown, along with details of all the supplementary games. Two UK players were guaranteed to win £1 million each as part of the Millionaire Maker.
The night belonged to the UK, making it five jackpot wins this year for the country. Andy Carter, the National Lottery’s Senior Winners’ Advisor, said: “What a bank holiday weekend for one lucky National Lottery player.”
A UK player had most recently pocketed the jackpot on Friday 28th July, winning £51.7 million (€57.8 million). The latest success strengthens the UK’s position in third place in the list of winners by country, having now taken home 68 jackpots since EuroMillions was launched in 2004.
As the latest winner looks forward to getting their hands on their £15.7 million, players across Europe can try to snap up tonight’s jackpot of £15 million (€17 million). If you reckon the top prize will be won for a third straight draw, you can choose numbers online or visit any authorised retailer in a participating country. Good luck!
